A teacher from one of the schools from Soreng has been accused of physically abusing around 12 female students.
The students on May 8, had informed the school authorities of instances of physical abuse by their teacher.
According to police report, a written FIR was received on May 10 from the school mentioning that “a group of around 12 female students of his school reported him on 8/05/2024 stating that one of their teacher used to abuse them physically and did bad touch since long ago”.
According to the report in EastMojo, the accused was working as language instructor in the school, was recruited just three months ago and was regularised during massive regularization drive of state government recently. The students are between 8-14 years of age.
Police report suggests that the accused has been arrested and booked under POCSO Act with case currently under investigation.
