2nd Round of Training for Counting Process undergoes for Pakyong District

Pakyong, 20 May (IPR):

The second round of training for Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Micro Observers was conducted at the conference hall of Rurban Complex, Pakyong today.

A total of 121 trainees attended the training for the counting process in both morning and afternoon sessions.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Tashi Chophel, DEO cum DC Pakyong, advised the trainees to take a proactive role in the training session as the counting day approaches, and encouraged them to seek clarification on any areas of the counting procedure so that they are fully equipped.

The training session was imparted by Ms Tenzing Pema, District Level Master Trainer (DLMT) cum Joint Secretary, Planning & Development Department and Mrs Merina Rai, State Level Master Trainer (SLMT) cum Joint Secretary, Election Cell.

During the training, the participants were given practical training on the counting process for Postal Ballots, enabling them to acquire a thorough understanding of the procedures involved.

In addition, the trainees also received hands-on training to become familiar with the process of counting votes recorded in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), including the counting procedure for Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) slips.

Furthermore, the training also showcased the unsealing and handling procedures for the EVMs and VVPATs at the time of counting, as well as a detailed explanation of Forms 13A, 13B, and 13C.

Also present at the training were Ms Anupa Tamling, ADC Pakyong; Mr Mahendra Chettri, SDM (H.Q.); and Mr Sandesh Subba, SDM Pakyong.
