Sarathi 1.0 Trains 117 ASHA Workers to Address Addiction and Mental Health
Pakyong, January 17: Under the vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), to make Sikkim “Addiction-free and Mentally Healthy,” and under the guidance of Shri Rohit Raj Gurung (Hon’ble Advisor to Hon’ble Chief Minister and Chief Resource Person, Sarathi Organisation), Sarathi 1.0 organised a one-day ASHA Refresher Training for 117 ASHA workers in Pakyong District. These workers had previously undergone training under Sarathi 1.0 for FY 2022-2024, during which 117 Sarathi Samaj groups were established to address substance misuse at the community level and promote mental health.
A total of 28 ASHAs from Pakyong PHC were trained on the Sarathi 1.0 module. The training program was conducted at the ADC Rurban Community Complex in Pakyong, covering various PHCs. Its aim was to enhance awareness and provide essential skills to address addiction and mental well-being. The participants will be equipped with the necessary skills to effectively identify and address issues within their communities.
The training module covered topics related to:
1. Reduction of substance misuse at school and community levels.
2. Promotion of mental well-being. 3. Inculcation of Moral Values.
The program saw a significant presence of the resource persons, who provided insightful addresses during the training sessions.

The successful completion of this program highlights the ongoing commitment of Sarathi 1.0 towards substance misuse reduction and mental health promotion at the community level.
