Minister chairs coordination meeting to discuss road connectivity in the district

Minister cum MLA, Lachen Mangan constituency, Mr Samdup Lepcha chaired a coordination meeting at DAC Mangan today to discuss issues concerning road connectivity under Mangan district.
The objective of the meeting was to review road connectivity, assessment of permanent and temporary bridges and preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season.
The Minister urged the officials of the Border Roads Organisation and the Army to work in close coordination with the district administration and local stakeholders to ensure timely completion of construction and restoration work along various stretches in the district. Likewise, the Minister directed the officers of Roads and Bridges Department and the PMGSY to complete all the pending and ongoing works especially in the vulnerable areas. He also urged the BRO and State Government departments to clear the roadside debris and adopt measures such as plantation and putting up relevant signages and hoardings.
District Collector, Mangan, Mr Anant Jain reiterated the need for coordination among all the agencies working to restore connectivity in various parts of the district.
He also urged all the departments and agencies to brace up for the upcoming monsoon season.
