District Level Kala Utsav 2025 held in Pakyong under the theme ‘Viksit Bharat- A Vision for Bharat in the Year 2047.’

Pakyong, September 11 : The District Level Kala Utsav 2025 under the theme ‘Viksit Bharat-A Vision for Bharat in the Year 2047’ was organised by the District Project Office, Samagra Siksha, Pakyong District, at the RDD Community Complex, Rurban Pakyong, today.

Kala Utsav, a flagship programme of the Department of School Education and Literacy (DSE&L), Ministry of Education (MoE), was launched in 2015. It aims to foster and showcase the artistic talent of the student of the secondary stage. This annual event provides a platform for students to explore and celebrate arts and cultural diversity at various levels-school, district, state and national.

The daylong event was graced by Chief Education Officer (CEO), Pakyong District, Mr Narayan Mishra as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, CEO, Mr Narayan Mishra provided an overview of the objectives of Kala Utsav as a platform for nurturing and showcasing the creative abilities of students at the secondary stage.

He also touched upon this year’s theme in relation to the role of students in shaping the future and further extended his gratitude to the students, escort teachers, and jury members for their cooperation and support in making the programme successful.

The competitions were conducted in multiple categories, including visual arts, vocal music, instrumental music, storytelling, theater (role play), and dance.

As the competition progressed, the jury members from each category shared their feedback with the participants, offering observations on their performances and suggestions for further improvement.

The winners of the competition are as follows:

1. Vocal Music Solo: Ms Supriya Rai, Government Secondary School Chanatar

2. Vocal Music Group: Government Secondary School Padamchey

3. Instrumental Music Solo (Melodic): Ms Aditi Pokhrel, Tikalal Niroula Government

Senior Secondary School

4. Instrumental Music Solo (Percussive): Master Achyutam Rimal, PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School Rhenock

5. Dance Solo: Ms Anamika Pradhan, PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School Rhenock

6. Dance Group (Regional/Folk): Government Senior Secondary School Mamring

7. Theatre (Role Play): Government Secondary School Pachak

8. Visual Arts solo (2D): Master Debopriya Bera, Government Secondary School Ahopul Kishan

9. Visual Arts Group (Indigenous Toys): Government Senior Secondary School Rorathang

10. Traditional Storytelling: Government Secondary School Dalapchand

The event saw the participation of thirty schools with a total of eighty-eight students from across the district, competing in different categories. It concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants across the categories.

It is to be mentioned that the winners of the Pakyong District Level Kala Utsav-2025 shall be competing at the State Level Kala Utsav.

Also present were Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors of the Education Department from subdivisions and blocks, officials from District Education Office, school heads and teachers.
