Celebrating Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Week: Plantation Drive at DAC Pakyong
Pakyong, 27 August (IPR): As a part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao week under the Mission Shakti Scheme, a plantation drive was conducted at the District Administrative Centre (DAC) premises in Pakyong today.
This initiative, organised by the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) and One Stop Centre (OSC) under the Women and Child Development Department, Pakyong District, was dedicated to celebrating and honouring the girl child.
The event saw the participation of Mr Agawane Rohan Ramesh, DC Pakyong, alongside Mr Sangay Gyasto Bhutia, ADC Pakyong, Mr Robin Pd Sewa, ADC (Dev), Mr Dakman Subba, SDM Pakyong, Mr Sandesh Subba, SDM Pakyong, Ms Dikit Lepcha, Deputy Director (W&CDD) cum Social Welfare Officer, and Mr Tika Ram Chettri, DPO Pakyong.
During the drive, Ms Sristika Sharma, District Mission Coordinator, DHEW, highlighted the initiative’s significance as a symbol of commitment to nurturing both the natural environment and the future of young girls, ensuring they grow up in a world that supports their ambitions and dreams.
The event also included participation from officials and staff from DAC Pakyong.
