District Water and Sanitation Monitoring Committee Meeting Held at Pakyong.
Pakyong, September 8 : District Collector Pakyong, Mr Rohan Agawane, chaired the District Water and Sanitation Monitoring Committee (DWSM) meeting at the conference hall of District Administrative Centre (DAC) Pakyong, today.
The meeting reviewed the progress of water and sanitation schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), including the functioning of Village Water and Sanitation Committees (VWSCs) and the implementation of user charges.
During the meeting, the block-wise progress of the ongoing JJM works in Pakyong District was reviewed, along with discussions on the roles and responsibilities of the Village Water and Sanitation Committees (VWSCs). The committee further examined operational challenges and deliberated on measures for the effective implementation of the schemes.
Following the review, the District Collector instructed the concerned departments to ensure timely submission of reports, provided suggestions to address issues under the ongoing JJM works, and directed necessary steps for effective implementation across the blocks of the district.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director, Education Department, Ms Poonam Pradhan; DE Zilla, Mr Kailash Kr Sharma; Deputy Director Horticulture Department, Ms Hissay Cheday Bhutia; WO Social Welfare Department, Ms Sunita Dahal along with BDOs Pakyong, Namchebong, Duga and Parakha and engineers from various line departments.
