Dr. Tshering Pincho Bhutia from East Sikkim Successfully Defends PhD on (The Impact of Fintech and Digital Financial services on Financial Inclusion In Sikkim).

Dr. Tshering Pincho Bhutia, son of Mr. Rinchen Tshering Bhutia from Aritar, Rhenock, has successfully completed his PhD viva voce defense at Sikkim Professional University. His doctoral research, titled “The Impact of Fintech and Digital Financial Services on Financial Inclusion in Sikkim,” explores how digital technologies are transforming access to financial services in the state.

Dr. Bhutia pursued his PhD under the Department of Management at Sikkim Professional University, with the guidance of Dr. Nasiruddin Molla and co-guide Dr. Madan Chettri. Expressing gratitude, he acknowledged their invaluable support throughout his academic journey.

He has contributed extensively to academia by publishing multiple research papers in reputed international journals, including those indexed under the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) and Scopus. He has also actively participated in international seminars and workshops, bringing visibility to Sikkim’s research potential on global platforms.

Tracing his academic journey, Dr. Bhutia completed his early education at Aritar Government Senior Secondary School (Class 10) and Enchey Government Senior Secondary School (Class 12). He went on to graduate with a B.Com (Hons.) degree from Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College, Tadong, followed by an M.Com in Accounting and Finance from Sikkim Manipal University.

Professionally, he has served as a lecturer at Sikkim Professional University and is also the founder of Horizon Education Institute, an initiative dedicated to providing free education to underprivileged students. Currently, he works as a Marketing Assistant in the Government of Sikkim, continuing his service toward both academia and society.

Dr. Bhutia’s academic achievement is a moment of pride not only for his family but also for the community of East Sikkim. His work is expected to contribute significantly to shaping digital finance strategies and enhancing financial inclusion in the region.
