Kisan Gosthi Programme Held Successfully at Latuk Barapathing under Parakha Block

The Kisan Gosthi programme was successfully organized by ATMA Pakyong at Latuk Barapathing under Parakha Block, bringing together farmers, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and officials from the Agriculture and Horticulture Departments.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Udhav Bhattarai, Assistant Technology Manager (ATM), Parakha Block, who highlighted the importance of such interactive platforms in strengthening coordination between farmers and departmental officials. He emphasized that the Kisan Gosthi aims to enhance awareness, encourage knowledge sharing, and promote agricultural and horticultural activities among farmers and SHGs.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various SHGs representing different wards. The groups showcased a diverse range of agricultural and horticultural products, reflecting innovation, dedication, and the growing entrepreneurial spirit among rural farming communities.

The programme was graced by Shri Tashi Gyamsto Bhutia, Agriculture Development Officer (ADO); Smt. Menuka Rai, Horticulture Development Officer (HDO); Smt. Sabina Gurung, Agriculture Inspector; along with staff members of the Barapathing VLW Circle. Smt. Sangita Ruchal, Panchayat President of Latuk Barapathing, attended as the Chief Guest, while Shri Jigme Bhutia, Panchayat member of Pheri Ward, was also present.

During the programme, SHGs actively participated in product displays and interactive sessions. Surya SHG secured the first position, followed by Suraksha SHG and Shanti SHG. A questionnaire and discussion session was also conducted, providing farmers an opportunity to clarify their doubts and share experiences.

The programme was successfully conducted by the Assistant Technology Manager, Parakha Block. The Kisan Gosthi served as an effective platform for strengthening farmer engagement, promoting local produce, and encouraging sustainable agricultural development in the region.
