Labour Registration Camps Begin in Pakyong District under ‘Aanganma Prashasan’
Pakyong, Sept 12: The Labour Department, in coordination with the Pakyong District Administration, ADC (Dev), and Panchayats, has initiated labour registration camps under the “Aanganma Prashasan” programme from September 12, 2025. The initiative is being carried out under the guidance of Secretary, Labour Department, Mr Bhim Thatal.
The camps aim to facilitate on-the-spot registration of unorganised sector workers for labour welfare schemes and to issue labour registration cards after necessary verification. Workers are also being informed about labour laws, Sikkim BOCW Welfare Schemes, PMSYM benefits, e-shram registration, and skill development opportunities.
The registration drive in Pakyong District is being led by Deputy Labour Commissioner, Mr Tashi Pintso Mapen, along with Labour Inspectors. Officials are engaging with workers, employers, and Panchayats to ensure maximum coverage.
The camps will be conducted across all 28 GPUs in the district until September 26, 2025. So far, Namcheypong, Regu, and Pakyong blocks have been covered.
The Labour Department has stated that the programme is aimed at strengthening access to welfare schemes, promoting fair employment practices, and ensuring no worker remains unregistered.
Workers may contact the District Labour Office, Pakyong, or visit the ongoing camps for assistance.
