Pakyong District Boxing Association Constitutes Adhoc Committee and Unveils Logo
Pakyong, September 26, 2025:
The Pakyong District Boxing Association (PDBA) officially constituted its Adhoc Committee on 26th September 2025, following a series of discussions held on 19th September. The development marks a significant milestone for the promotion of boxing in the district.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri Jas Lal Pradhan, President of the Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association and Arjuna Awardee, who extended his guidance and encouragement to the newly formed body.
The office bearers of the PDBA Adhoc Committee are:
- President: Shri Bal Krishna Dhamala
- Vice President: Shri K.N. Luitel
- General Secretary: Shri Pritam Shilal
- Joint Secretary: Smt. Sunita Chettri
- Treasurer: Miss Muskan Chettri
- Members: Shri Sujit Rai, Smt. Sabina Sundas, Smt. Shanti Subba, Shri Bijay Pradhan, Shri Pawan Singh Darnal, Shri Rahul Gurung
Speaking on the occasion, newly elected President Shri B.K. Dhamala shared his vision for the association, emphasizing collective discussions and efforts for the holistic development of boxing in Pakyong District. He described the establishment of PDBA as a “new feather of sports in our district.”
Shri Jas Lal Pradhan, in his address, underlined the importance of organizing regular competitions and assured support in facilitating the affiliation of PDBA with the Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association through due process.
Adding to the day’s significance, the official logo of PDBA was unveiled. The emblem embodies the association’s guiding motto — “Discipline, Strength, Skill, Victory” — reflecting its mission to instill discipline, build strength, refine skills, and inspire victory among young boxers through perseverance and sportsmanship.
With the formation of PDBA, the district has taken an important step towards nurturing talent and strengthening the foundation of boxing in Sikkim.
