Shri Lok Nath Sharma, MLA and Advisor for the PHE and Water Resources Department, visited Kameray village under the Rhenock Constituency. He was accompanied by Shri Bishnu Kumar Sharma, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Urgent Lepcha, Chief Assistant (CA)to the HCM, Shri Robin Sewa, ADC Pakyong, newly elected executive bodies of the Kishan Morcha, local farmers and the public of Kameray.

During the visit, Shri Lok Nath Sharma inaugurated a man-made bird nest (Chara Ghaar), which is crucial for the survival of certain bird species such as pigeons and others that are nearing extinction. The primary goal of constructing these handmade nests is to prevent the extinction of bird species, as their numbers have been declining over time. This initiative represents a human effort to safeguard them for future generations.

The first phase of the project has been completed, and phase two is currently underway. Kameray village is now recognized as a Model Village under the theme “Our Village, Our Pride.” It serves as an example for all villages in Sikkim, demonstrating that when visionary leadership and the community come together, anything is possible.
