Yuksam, 2 November: Yuksam Thangyal Lhakhang, under the spiritual guidance of His Eminence Serta Khyentse Rinpoche, is observing Lhabab Düchen 2026 with a full day of sacred Buddhist rituals, prayers and spiritual activities, bringing together representatives from more than 15 Dharma centres across Sikkim.

The observance includes the recitation and practice of the sacred Domang Tersar Chöd, along with prayers and spiritual offerings throughout the day. The religious activities are dedicated to the peace, happiness and well-being of all sentient beings.
Coinciding with Mother’s Day, the auspicious occasion also serves as an opportunity to express gratitude for the immeasurable kindness, unconditional love and sacrifices of mothers.
As part of the observance, three cows are being liberated from slaughter through the Buddhist practice of Life Release (Tsethar). The merit accumulated through this act of compassion is being dedicated to the long life of Dharma masters and the benefit of all sentient beings.
Lhabab Düchen is regarded as one of the most sacred days in the Buddhist calendar, commemorating the descent of Lord Buddha Shakyamuni from the celestial realm of the Thirty-Three Gods to the human world.
The observance concludes with prayers for peace, harmony, compassion and happiness across all realms, invoking the blessings of Buddha Shakyamuni for the welfare of all living beings.
