District Collector Pakyong, Mr Rohan Agawane chaired a Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) meeting at the conference hall of the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong, today.

The meeting focused on strengthening intelligence activities related to drug abuse in Pakyong District.
During the meeting, DC Pakyong enquired about the presence of an intelligence network in each department and reviewed the mechanisms used for intelligence gathering on drug-related activities.
Furthermore, he assessed the effectiveness of these systems.
Departments provided inputs on the methods used to monitor and track drug abuse. They also shared various challenges encountered during the process.
In response, DC Pakyong directed the concerned departments to work in close coordination and adopt a collaborative approach for monitoring drug-related activities.
He also emphasised the need for proactive information sharing and joint action to ensure timely intervention and effective control.
Additionally, he advised officials to maintain alertness within their respective offices.
The meeting had the presence of Sub Divisional Magistrate (Headquarter); SDMs from various subdivisions under the district; Block Development Officers from various blocks under the district; and officials from Commercial Tax Divison, Excise, Urban Development, Forest, Health and Family Welfare, Labour, Police, Social Welfare Department and Sashastra Seema Bal.
