Bishal Rai Crowned Iron Man, Gau Maya Pradhan Named Iron Woman at State Powerlifting Championship

Gangtok, Sept 15: The 5th State and 2nd Open Powerlifting SBD Championship 2025, organised by the Sikkim State Powerlifting Association (SSPA), concluded on September 14 at Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College Auditorium, Tadong.

Bishal Rai emerged as the 5th Iron Man of Sikkim, while Gau Maya Pradhan claimed the title of 5th Iron Woman. Iron Paradise Gym, Jorethang lifted the Team Champion trophy, and Bikash Tamang was adjudged Best Lifter of the Tournament.

The championship saw participation from over 150 lifters representing Sikkim, Darjeeling, Kurseong, Siliguri, and Meghalaya across Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior, and Masters’ categories. It also served as a selection trial for upcoming Eastern Zone and National Championships.
