Director General of Police, Sikkim, Shri Akshay Sachdeva, IPS, visited Government Senior Secondary School, Mangan, as part of community outreach initiative initiated Sikkim Police “Building Bond”
During first phase of the visit, the DGP addressed students from various schools and college as well as members of the general public from Mangan. In his address, he highlighted the daily challenges faced by the police force, the importance of obeying traffic rules and regulations and raised awareness on cybercrime and online safety.
He also emphasized the need for citizens, especially the youth to know the concerned police officers and to actively participate in fostering mutual trust and cooperation between the police and the community. The interactive session presented through the role play method was highly engaging and informative leaving a positive impact on the attendees and further strengthening the bond between the police and the public.
Later in the day, the DGP interacted with police personnel and emphasised the importance of maintaining discipline at work, ensuring proper turnout, improving physical fitness through daily PT, and taking care of their mental health.
