Chief Minister PS Tamang Attends Foundation Stone Laying of Soreng District Court Complex
“It is always a matter of pride to attend a significant event on one’s home soil, and this sense of belonging encouraged me to join this special function of the laying of foundation stone of the District Court Complex at Soreng, despite keeping slightly unwell.
The gracious presence of the Hon’ble Chief Justice, Shri Justice Biswanath Somadder Ji, made this occasion even more special.
Under his leadership, the judiciary in Sikkim has grown stronger in infrastructure, accessibility, and public trust. A new court represents not just a building, but a renewed promise of justice for our people.
Our government continues to expand judicial infrastructure across the state so that citizens, especially in remote areas, can access justice without hardship. The establishment of the Directorate of Prosecution and the progress of the Sikkim National Law University further strengthen our justice system.
With Soreng now a district, a full-fledged District Court has been established, and today’s foundation stone marks an important milestone in bringing efficient justice closer to the people. I congratulate everyone on this significant development and thank the Buildings and Housing Department team for their dedicated efforts.
