The State-level Mock Drill conducted in Gangtok District, coordinated by the SDMA and DDMA, successfully demonstrated the district’s disaster-response readiness and coordination.
As part of the exercise, the Staging Area was established at Ridge Park, selected for its accessibility for emergency vehicles, adequate space for logistics, and proximity to affected zones while ensuring safety. Key operational facilities were systematically set up, including the Resource Check-in/Check-out Point for documenting all incoming and outgoing resources, a Responder Camp for briefing, rest and assembly, and a dedicated Briefing/De-briefing Station for instructions and feedback. A Communication and Coordination Desk ensured smooth information flow between field units and the Incident Response Team, while a designated Vehicle Parking and Maintenance Area enabled regulated movement and operational readiness of all emergency vehicles throughout the drill.
