Elector Mapping Review Meeting Held at Pakyong

Pakyong, April 18 : A meeting on the mapping of electors of EROLL 2025 with the last SIR EROLL 2002 was held at the Emergency Operation Center, Pakyong, today under the chairmanship of the District Election Officer-cum-District Collector, Pakyong, Mr Rohan Agawane.

The District Election Officer reviewed the progress of elector mapping and examined polling parts where coverage remains below 80 percent. He sought explanations from the concerned Booth Level Officers (BLOs) regarding the shortfall in these areas.

Emphasising the importance of the ongoing exercise, Mr Agawane directed that special focus be given to polling parts with mapping below 80 percent and called for intensified efforts to improve coverage.

Additional District Collector, Pakyong, Mr Pulkit, provided guidance to the BLOs on resolving field-level issues and addressed their queries. He further instructed them to maintain written records of daily visits, extend necessary cooperation, and ensure steady progress towards achieving the desired mapping levels.

The BLOs were also directed to prepare a separate list of electors not reflected in the 2002 electoral roll, along with their present status and justification, and submit the same within the stipulated timeline.

With regard to the queries raised by the District Collector-cum-District Election Officer seeking explanations, the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) attributed the gaps to technical errors, migration, electors not residing in the respective polling parts, and other field-level challenges.

The meeting was attended by Electoral Registration Officer (ERO)-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrate (HQ), Mr Thendup Lepcha; ERO-cum-SDM Rangpo, Ms Sujata Subba; ERO-cum-SDM Pakyong, Mr NK Bhandari; officials from the Election Department, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from West Pendam, Rhenock, Chujachen, Gnathang-Machong, and Namcheybong Assembly Constituencies.
