Coordination Meeting Held for Upcoming National Conference on Technology and Judicial Education

Gangtok, April 20 :

A coordination meeting was held today at Tashiling Secretariat in connection with the upcoming National Conference on Technology and Judicial Education, to be held in Gangtok on May 1 and 2, 2026. The meeting was organised by officials of the High Court of Sikkim.

The conference is expected to be graced by the 53rd Chief Justice of India, Mr Surya Kant, along with judges of the Supreme Court of India, judges from various High Courts across the country, and foreign ambassadors.

The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim, Mr R Telang.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the status of logistical arrangements, including protocol, security, health services, venue preparedness, cultural programmes, beautification and repair works, transportation, and accommodation, in coordination with Heads of Departments and senior officers of concerned line departments. Suggestions were also put forth to ensure the smooth and effective execution of the two-day programme.

Mr Telang emphasised the importance of meticulous planning and coordination, underscoring that nothing should be left to chance, and called for full commitment from all departments to ensure the success of the event.

District Collector, Mangan, Mr Anant Jain, and District Collector, Pakyong, Mr Rohan Agawane, joined the meeting via video conference and were briefed on the agenda and preparedness.

Also present were Director General of Police, Sikkim, Mr Akshay Sachdeva; Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Mr C S Rao; Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Urban Development Department, Mr Jitendra Singh Raje; Heads of Departments of various line departments; officials from the High Court of Sikkim and Sikkim Judicial Academy; officers from 17 Mountain Division; senior officers of Sikkim Police; and senior officers from the District Administrative Centre, Gangtok and line departments.
