The 7th Day of the Men’s Open Intra Sikkim Constituency Level Football Tournament 2026 concluded on a high note at the Mamring Senior Secondary School Ground under the Rhenock Constituency, with football enthusiasts witnessing another day of intense competition and sporting excellence. The tournament is being organized by the IDCC Rhenock Sports Wing as part of the celebrations commemorating the 80th Independence Day of India.
The day’s proceedings were graced by Shri Prabhakar Goley, Chief Patron of the Garib Jan Kalyan Prakoshta, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. He was joined by other dignitaries, sports officials, local leaders, and a large gathering of football lovers who turned up to cheer for their favourite teams.
As the tournament enters its decisive stages, the level of competition has continued to rise, with participating teams displaying remarkable determination, discipline, and sportsmanship. Day seven featured two highly anticipated fixtures, both offering contrasting yet equally exciting football action.
In the opening match, Reunion Bering FC produced a commanding performance to overwhelm Muffin United with a resounding 8–1 victory. Reunion Bering FC dominated the game from the opening whistle, maintaining possession, creating numerous scoring opportunities, and converting them with clinical precision. Their well-coordinated attacks and solid teamwork proved too strong for Muffin United, earning Reunion Bering one of the most convincing victories recorded in the tournament so far. The emphatic win further strengthened the team’s reputation as one of the strongest contenders for the championship.
The second encounter between Rangers 19 and Bhasmey Club kept spectators on the edge of their seats. Both sides displayed disciplined defending and attacking intent throughout the regulation period, resulting in a closely fought draw. With neither team able to find the decisive breakthrough, the match was ultimately settled through a tie-breaker. Demonstrating composure under pressure, Rangers 19 converted their chances confidently to secure a hard-earned victory, while Bhasmey Club earned appreciation for their spirited performance despite the narrow defeat.
The tournament has continued to witness enthusiastic participation from football clubs representing different parts of Sikkim. Every match has reflected the growing passion for football among local youth while also promoting unity, healthy competition, and community participation through sports.
