Chief Minister’s Political Secretary (Press & Publicity) Bikash Basnett has strongly condemned the circulation of suspicious and misleading documents on social media by politically motivated elements and warned of strict legal action against those involved.

He writes: Strongly condemn the deliberate circulation of suspicious and misleading documents on social media (wats app/facebook) by certain anti-social and politically motivated elements.
The circulated material itself contains several glaring technical and procedural inconsistencies, including unusual reference formatting, absence of standard authentication features, lack of digital verification, improper signature presentation and drafting patterns inconsistent with established Government communication protocols.
Further, no official notification, gazette publication, PIB release, or authorised public record exists in relation to the circulated material, making its authenticity highly doubtful and questionable.
It is unfortunate that certain opposition elements in Sikkim, known for indulging in “Kirtay Politics” based on rumours, misinformation, propaganda and fear mongering, continue attempting to create unnecessary confusion among the public for narrow political interests.
Urging everyone not to believe, circulate, or amplify any unverified documents and to rely only upon official communications issued through authorised Government platforms and agencies.
Strict legal action will be initiated against those involved in creating and circulating such fake and misleading materials intended to disturb public harmony and social peace. Furthermore, SKM Legal Cell shall initiate appropriate legal action against those involved in creation and circulation of such fake and misleading materials.
