The Statehood Golden Jubilee Closing Ceremony at Taksang Kaizaley School in the Pakyong district, along with the Tiger-5 Football Tournament organized in loving memory of Late Chandra Prasad Khatiwara and Late Dhan Maya Khatiwara, concluded successfully today amidst grand celebrations, cultural performances, and sporting activities.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Chiranjeev Bhattacharya, Commandant of 69th Battalion SSB, while Mr. Nila Kantha Bhandari, SDM Pakyong, attended as Guest of Honour. Other distinguished guests included Dr. Subhadra Dangal, Zilla Panchayat (Amba–Taza TC), Mrs. Ranzana Rasaily, Zilla Panchayat of Bering Sudunglakha, NK Dangal of Amba Panchayat, author and poet Yuva Baral Ananta, Mr. Binod Bhattarai, Assistant Professor at Sikkim University, school alumni, and several dignitaries.
The occasion witnessed a vibrant atmosphere with cultural showcases and recreational events. Performances representing Nepali, Lepcha, and Hindi cultures entertained the audience, while fun-filled activities such as Tug of War, Balloon Bursting, Book Balance, and Passing the Ball added excitement to the celebrations.
The much-awaited final match between UPSC Pacheykhani and BaraPathing FC turned out to be a thrilling encounter. Displaying remarkable teamwork and determination, BaraPathing FC emerged victorious and lifted the Tiger-5 Football Tournament trophy. The team also secured the Man of the Tournament accolade.
During the event, Chief Guest Chiranjeev Bhattacharya, along with Mr. Binod Bhattarai and HR Bhattarai, were felicitated by Taksang Kaizaley School in recognition of their generous contributions and support towards the institution.
The tournament trophy was generously donated by the Khatiwara family of Dhargoan, Mamring, in loving memory of their late parents. The contributors included Kamal Khatiwara, D.R. Khatiwara, Matrika Khatiwara, Shanti Khatiwara, Homnath Khatiwara, and Chiran Khatiwara.
The school administration extended heartfelt gratitude to all individuals and organizations who supported the event physically, financially, and through various forms of contribution, helping make the celebration a grand success.
