On 3rd July, Gangtok Municipal Corporation and Gangtok District Administation led by SDM Gangtok, SDPO Gangtok, and officials of UDD arrived at the project site of under Construction STAR MALL and sealed the u/c building. In lieu of violation of Sikkim Building Construction Regulations 1991 the District Collectorate, Gangtok District issued sealing notice as per the memo No. 503/TGP/ GMC/ 2024 dated 02/07/2024 received from GMC, Gangtok. Three stop orders were issued from september'23 to April'24 highlighting the violations and repeated disobedience of the regulatory authority has led to this action of the authority.. Condition of National Highway 10 Indra Hang Subba asks for immediate attention to NH 10 at Lok Sabha

Speaking in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, MP from Sikkim Indra Hang Subba urged the Centre to provide assistance for ‘typical’ issues facing the hills and frequent disturbances in the National Highway 10 caused by incessant rainfall and landslides. He emphasised on the urgent need for measures to ensure smooth connectivity and alleviate the challenges faced by commuters. Zip line created at Sangklang for transfer of materials

The Sangklang bridge, a crucial connection between Mangan and Dzongu, was washed away due to incessant rainfall. This severely hampered transportation and the movement of materials between these regions. To address this urgent need, a zip line has been constructed in Sangklang to facilitate the transfer of materials to and from Dzongu and Mangan.
