MyBharat Pakyong Successfully Organises District-Level Competitions under “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat”
Pakyong, 5 August 2026: MyBharat Pakyong District, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, successfully organised the District-Level Competitions under the national youth campaign “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – A National Youth Campaign for a Drug-Free India” at the Pakyong Community Centre. The programme was organised in collaboration with Helping Hand NGO, Bardang.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 150 students representing various educational institutions across the district, including PM Shri Dikling Senior Secondary School, Namcheypong Senior Secondary School, Aho Pul Kisan School, Machong Senior Secondary School, PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pachey Senior Secondary School, Pacheykhani Secondary School, Padamchey Secondary School, and Carmel TTI. The programme also saw active participation from various NGOs and youth clubs, making the campaign a true community-driven initiative against substance abuse.
Competitions were conducted in eight categories-Dance, Singing, Elocution, Painting, Reel Making, Slogan Writing, Debate, and Nukkad Natak (Street Play). The winners from each category will proudly represent Pakyong District at the State-Level Competitions.
The programme was graced by DC Pakyong, Madam Pari Bishnoi, IAS, as the Chief Guest. The Special Guests included ADC Pakyong, Shri Pulkit IAS; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Madanmani Dhakal; Joint Director, Education Department, Pakyong, Smt. Poonam Pradhan; Welfare Officer, Pakyong, Smt. Sunita Dahal; and Deputy Director, MyBharat Gangtok, Shri Shamser Gani Subedar.
Addressing the gathering, ADC Pakyong Shri Pulkit IAS encouraged the students to believe in themselves, develop their potential, and come forward to contribute meaningfully to society through positive actions and leadership.
In her inspiring address, DC Pakyong Madam Pari Bishnoi, IAS, urged the youth to dream big, stay away from the path of substance abuse, and become responsible citizens and change-makers who will lead the nation towards a Viksit Bharat.
