Pakyong, June 24: Restoration and repair work on the Rangpo–Rorathang road, which was blocked following a landslide, is progressing on a war footing. However, authorities have confirmed that the road will remain closed to vehicular traffic for today due to ongoing clearance operations and safety concerns.

According to GREF Supervisor Ms. Amrita, efforts are being made to restore connectivity at the earliest possible time. Despite continuous work by the concerned agencies, the current condition of the affected stretch does not permit the safe movement of vehicles. As a result, reopening the road today is not feasible.
Officials stated that if weather conditions remain favorable and the restoration work proceeds as planned, the road is likely to be reopened by tomorrow morning. The landslide had disrupted normal transportation, causing inconvenience to commuters and residents who rely on the route for daily travel.
Meanwhile, the authorities have advised travelers, local residents, and vehicle operators to exercise caution, make use of alternative routes wherever possible, and stay updated through official notifications regarding the status of the road.
Restoration teams continue to work tirelessly at the site to ensure the road is made safe and accessible at the earliest.
